As a Spelman sister, I shared many personal experiences with Barbara - a Crossroads Africa experience, an Atlanta foundation and a shared value in academic excellence. I admired her professional achievement to become a physical therapist which was ground breaking in 1965 and her federal service. Barabara shared her proud heritage in Ebenezer Church during my many visits. She was admired by her Spelman and Morehouse classmates. Her vibrancy and commitment to personal development and physical health will be her legacy to all of knew and loved her. Rest In Peace. Your Morehouse Brothers Brown - Archie, Cecil and Jim.
It is very a heavy heart that I remember Barbara for being such a wonderful Spelman College classmate and friend. Barbara was a joy to know and was much loved. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
Barbara was such a warm, inspirational and free-spirited individual. She is a Spelman "sister"....a true/blue Spelman "sister" whom we all missed at our 60th reunion last week. Condolences to her family and to all who loved her. We loved her!
Dear Family, I write to share with you the meaningful relationship I enjoyed with Dr. Barbara. While I knew her for more than 20 years; it was during the time she worshiped at Murdock Chapel in Pike Road that we grew close. She brought much joy to our congregation in the season we were building our new edifice. Feisty and fun, yet a serous student of the Bible and a lover of God, she lent her time, talent and treasure to this effort. I felt GOD sent her our way specifically to encourage me through the trial and tribulations of the build. She has a special place in my heart, forever. Family, pease accept my heartfelt condolences. May the God of ALL comfort, comfort you. Rev. Dr. Letitia Watford Presiding Elder, AME Church
