MR. BARRY BRUNO HITE, JR affectionately called “BJ” departed this life suddenly on August 13, 2022 in Petersburg, VA. He was born July 18, 1990 to Barry, Sr. and Sharon Lenett Talley Hite in Mecklenburg County, VA.

At an early age he was baptized and joined Bethel Memorial RZUA Church. He was a 2009 graduate of the former Park View High School. He enjoyed playing football with the South Hill Yellow Jackets and basketball with the Park View Dragons. His favorite basketball team was the Los Angeles Lakers. He later attended Regenesis School, Petersburg for two years.

“BJ” was raised in a family where his aunts were as mothers and his cousins were like his sisters and brothers. He was employed by Lowe’s as a laborer.

“BJ” leaves to mourn his son- Princeton J. Brown “PJ” of Bracey, VA; his parents- Barry, Sr. and Sharon Hite; one sister- Chantel M. Talley; one nephew- J’Havion T. Talley , all of the home; grandparents- Cordell Talley (Herbert) of LaCrosse, VA and Will Holmes, Jr. of South Hill, VA; his special friend- Cheetara John of Richmond, VA; 7 aunts- Norma Winn of Kenbridge, VA; Brenda Macklin, Alice Goodrich, Marilyn and Dorothy Hite, all of South Hill, VA; Janet Jones of Brodnax, VA and Mary (Demond) Jones of Colonial Heights, VA; 6 uncles- James Talley (Tee Tee) and Robert Talley of Philadelphia, PA; Barchie (Veronica) Hazelwood of Fredericksburg, VA; Bobby and Lewis Grantly of Philadelphia, PA; George "Chicken" Hines of South Hill, VA; 10 great-aunts- Annie (John) White of Chesterfield, VA; Julia Tisdale, Pearl (David) Crute, and Gladys Talley, all of Philadelphia, PA; Rosa Talley of LaCrosse, VA; Evelyn Jackson, Harriett Harris, and Linda Talley, all of South Hill, VA; Mary Gibson of New York, NY; Cindy Talley of Maryland; 5 great-uncles- Danny Jones (Sarah) of Lawrenceville, VA; David Jones of Richmond, VA; Dale (Cynthia) Jones of Lawrenceville, VA; Michael Jackson (Yolander) of Skipwith, VA, and Lander Hendricks, Sr. of LaCrosse, VA; mother-in-love- Le’Keisha Hite; devoted friends- Tevin Jones, Wendal “Ozzie” Fegans, Jr., Dante’ Marks, Romaine Johnson, Daquan Walker and Andre Clary, and a host of cousins and other friends.

BJ was my son from another mother. It didn't matter what time day or night my door was always open. I've never seen him without a smile on his face. He would always ask me "Ma what you cooking, I'll be over" I'll miss you dearly. Love you 😘

WOW! My heart was sadden to learn about the passing of BJ. I had the opportunity to know BJ while teaching at Park View Middle School and again at Parkview High School while serving as an administrator. He loved being on the court playing sports. BJ was a fine well mannered young man. To the family, I am keeping you covered with prayer. God in the precious name of Jesus will heal your hearts. Keep the faith and trust in him.

I taught Barry when he was in elementary school. I remember him because he always had that big smile on his face. He was definitely all "boy" when I had him. Often busy and talking, but always demonstrated manners and respect. May he rest in peace with our heavenly Father.

Even as a little boy, running around in Circle Drive wearing nothing but your pamper and smiling....You were like a "bright light" to everyone you encountered with that smile and sense of humor!
