Obituary For Barry Gene Harris

MR. BARRY GENE HARRIS, son of the late Lucy Mae Harris and Thomas Seward, was born August 2, 1962 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia and departed this life February 14, 2025 in The Hundley Center in South Hill, Virginia. He was also preceded in death by his brothers- Willie and Bruce Harris and John Hargrove and a sister- Daisy Mae Hines.
He attended Cotton Creek Elementary School and Park View Senior High School in South Hill, Virginia.
Barry later was employed by Palmer Springs Adult Center in the custodian department where he worked until he became ill.
In his spare time, he enjoyed being with family and friends and going fishing.
Barry leaves to mourn two children- Tanakea Harris and Barry Harris, Jr., both of Richmond, VA; two brothers- Charles (Mary ) Harris, South Hill, VA and Michael (Linda) Harris, Richmond, VA; three sisters- Peggy Harris, Kentucky; Robin (Larry) Pierve, Jacksonville, FL and Annie Hargrove, South Hill, VA; two aunts- Julia May Harris, Boydton, VA and Nora Wright, Norfolk, VA; two uncles- Donnell (Nannie) Harris, Philadelphia, PA and Spencer Harris, Richmond, VA; numerous grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

It's sad and heartbreaking that in my search for you I found out about your passing in this way. You are now an extra angel that watches over Barry, Brianna, your grandbabies and me. As far apart and how long the distance in between thank you daddy for your unwavering unconditional love and always having us in your heart. I'll always remember and appreciate your protective nature and your infectious bright smile. Barry is the father of my daughter Brianna Dawn Balmer,she wasn't mentioned in his obituary.
