MRS. CATHERINE SYLENE BROADY LEWIS MOOREFIELD, was born July 12, 1937 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia and departed this life October 2, 2019 in Carriage Hill Health and Rehab Center, Fredericksburg, VA. She was also preceded in death by her children- Patricia Poore, Gloria Lowrey, Kathleen Shissier and Henry Lewis.

At an early age she was baptized and joined Gethsemane Baptist Church, South Hill, VA. She was a graduate of the former Mecklenburg County Training School.

Catherine was married to the late David Lewis and to this union eight children were born.

After his death she later married the late Robert Moorefield and to this union two children were born.

Catherine was employed by Marriott Hotels for over 45 years until her retirement at the age of 78.

In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, watching the soap operas, and reading.

Catherine leaves to mourn six children- David (Shelia) Lewis, Richmond, VA; Bobby Moorefield, Atlanta, GA; John Moorefield, Alexandria, VA; Carolyn Kyer, Jonesville, NC; Gladys Alston-Hardin, Woodbridge, VA and Theresa Lewis (Tony Gallman), District Heights, MD; 26 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
