Gone Fishing In God's Pond
Clifton Junior Valentine, son of the late Robert Lee Valentine, Sr. and Nobie Greene Valentine, was born August 11, 1955 in Mecklenburg County, VA and departed this life June 8, 2025 at his residence in LaCrosse, VA. He was also preceded in death by his siblings- Solomon, Vera, Lurena, and his devoted companion, Montein Atkins.
At an early age Clifton was baptized and joined Harpers Temple Holiness Church. He attended the Mecklenburg County Public Schools.
Clifton was employed by Georgia Pacific for over 30 years and later retired from Hewlett Packard as a forklift driver.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, working on cars, enjoying family and playing the lottery.
Clifton is survived by his daughter- Dr. Carlnita (Christopher) Greene, Franklin, MA; foster daughter- Michelle Hawkins, Greensboro, NC; three brothers- William Henry (Lynette) Valentine, George (Linda) Valentine, and Robert J. Valentine, all of Richmond, VA; three sisters- Ella Mae Valentine, Ada Lee Barner, and JoAnna Walker, all of Richmond, VA; two foster grandchildren- William and Nicholas Hawkins; five foster great-grandchildren- William, Kaaylah, Tia, Brayden, and Zaria, and a host of other relatives and friends.
To Freeman an family along with all , Cliff will be missed by visiting me when he came to visit his family ( my next door neighbors) and truly the talks we would have. Sending sincerely condolences. Mrs Mary Short & Family ππΎππΎ
