DAISY LEE BOONE, daughter of the late Lee Douglas and Irene Sturdivant, was born January 21, 1949, in Meredithville, VA and departed this life August 12, 2025, in VCU-MCV Hospital, Richmond, VA. She was also preceded in death by her siblings- Loretha Baskerville, Henry Marshalls, Bernisa Moore and Leroy Douglas.

At an early age she was baptized and joined Mt. Zion Holiness Church, under the leadership of the late Bishop Waverly Pitts. She attended the Mecklenburg County Public Schools.

Daisy later moved to New Jersey where she met and later married Morris Boone and to this union two children were born.

In 1981 they moved to Richmond, VA. Daisy attended Calvary Holiness Church and later New Life Apostolic Holiness Church under the pastorship of the late Apostle Mary Elizabeth Bagley.

Daisy was a seamstress by trade and loved to sew in her spare time and drink her diet coke. She also enjoyed sitting on the porch and in the sun, and of course, watching her soap operas.

Daisy was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, babysitter, and friend. She was affectionately called “Grandma Weezy” who had a heart that was pure as gold. Her beautiful smile will always be remembered, and the hugs will last us a lifetime.

Daisy leaves to mourn her devoted husband- Morris Boone of the home; two daughters- Rebecca Boone of the home and Wakisha Boone of Richmond, VA; five grandchildren- Fatiya Neville, Morris N. Boone, Maurice L. Boone, Laylah L. Boone and Jacheyla Walker; two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law; a devoted friend- Donna Minor of Richmond, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
