MRS. DOROTHY DAVIS-EVANS, affectionately called “Dot”, daughter of the late West Donnelly Winckler and Annie Eva Farrar Winckler was born March 27, 1931 in Mecklenburg County, VA and departed this life June 9, 2022 in Chase City Health and Rehabilitation Center, Chase City, VA.
At an early age she was baptized and joined Sharon Baptist Church. She attended the Mecklenburg County Public Schools.
Dorothy was married to the late Arthur Lee Davis and to this union four daughters were born; Cynthia Darlene Baskerville preceded her in death.
She was employed for many years at BGF and Lake Garment Industries for many years until her retirement.
She was later united in holy matrimony to the late Herbert Hoover Evans.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories are her children- Donnie (Roy) Johnson, Clarksville, VA; Wanda (James) Butler, Bowie, MD; Melissa (Charles) Sheppard, Las Vegas, NV; Carolyn Blackwell, Yvonne Dortch, Frances (Rufus) Rogers, all of South Hill, VA; Franklin (Eula) Evans, Brodnax, VA; Dr. Michael Evans, South Hill, VA and Matthew Evans, Columbia, SC; 29 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; a sister- Marie Johnson, Baskerville, VA; sisters-in-law, Rosa Davis, Addie Taylor, Gloria Evans, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
