MS. DOROTHY VIRGINIA CONLEY, affectionately known as “Dot,” gained her wings and departed this life suddenly June 27, 2024, in VCU-Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA. She was born July 3, 1943 in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late Charlie and Martha Ann Coles Conley; she was the 12th of 13 children. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her eleven siblings- Frank Conley, Julia Epps, Edna Morse, Mildred Conley, Josephine Epps, Mamie Conley, John Conley, Daisy Overby, Charles Conley, Joyce Britton and Hilda Jones and her longtime friend- William “Bill” Logan.
At an early age Dorothy accepted Christ in her life and remained a member of Greenwood Baptist Church, Boydton, VA where she was a Deacon, a member of the Usher Board and the Hospitality Committee. She also was a member of the Wednesdays Noon Day Prayer Group.

She was very hospitable, sharing her home and pantry with family, friends, and neighbors. No one was a stranger at her door. Dorothy was a devoted daughter and shared in the care of her aged parents until their demise. While not having children of her own, she delighted in being a big sister to two of her nieces- Mildred Conley Banks and Janet Conley Wright; both of them cherished spending time with her and enjoyed her warm, loving care and attention.
