MR. EDWARD LEE TALLEY, SR, affectionately called “Bone Talley”, son of the late Katherine Douglas Talley and Willie Lee Talley was born July 20, 1949 in Norlina, NC. He entered into eternal rest at his home on December 5, 2025 at the age of 76.
At an early age he was baptized and joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Norlina, NC. He was a 1967 graduate of North Warren High School.
Edward landed his first job with Harriett Henderson Cotton Mill before moving to Philadelphia, PA doing factory work. Later on in life he decided to return to Virginia. He was employed as a machine operator for Phillips Morris, USA and remained until his retirement.
On June 29, 1985 he married Diane Shelton and to this union a son, Eddie Jr. was born.
He joined Second Baptist Church in Richmond, VA and served as an Usher. He supported his church faithfully and financially until his health started to decline.
Edward was a member of Hobson Masonic Lodge No. 23, Richmond, VA where he participated in Masonic activities, events and charitable works.
Edward loved watching the Washington Commanders and watching every game he could. He enjoyed fishing with his friend Gene. He worked in his woodshed and restored wood tables, desks, and sometimes building small items from scratch.
Edward leaves to cherish his memory, his son- Edward Talley, Jr.; granddaughter- Kylee Talley; the mother of his son- Diane Talley, who was also a devoted caregiver during his declining health; three sisters- Nannie Talley, Onia Mae (Robert) Vaughan, and Sue Mable Allen; Godson- Jodie Rich; aunt- Lucy Mae Douglas; special friends- Jimmy Thomas and the late Joseph Rich, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Our sympathy goes out to the Talley family as you grieve the loss of your beloved brother, Edward-Bone Talley. We always enjoyed seeing him as he visited our church and making us laugh. Good byes are not forever, good byes are not the end, they simply mean we'll miss you, until we meet again.
