MR. FLOYD ELIJAH DUNSON, son of the late James E. and Nora Hendrick Dunson, was born July 16, 1956 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia and departed this life on January 22, 2026 at VCU-Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, Virginia. He was also preceded in death by his siblings- Darlene Dunson and William Walker.
At an early age he was baptized and joined Roanoke Zion RZUA Church, Bracey, Virginia. He attended Park View Senior High School.
Floyd was employed by J.B. Jones Store in LaCrosse, Virginia as a baker for many years and later at Rudd Store, in Bracey, Virginia until his retirement.
In his spare time, Floyd loved to watch his soap operas, play games on his phone, and he adored staying to himself.
Floyd leaves to mourn his daughter- Tomaneeka Stigall (Chris Lester); two grandsons- Christian and Sean Hughes, all of Chesterfield, Virginia; two brothers- James Walker of LaCrosse, Virginia and Edward (Mabeline) Dunson of Lawrenceville, Virginia; sister-in-law, Luerine Walker; devoted niece- Tiffany Cousin; special friend- Donna Simpson; nieces- Katrina and Britney Dunson and Cynthia Saunders; nephews- Charlie Dunson, Earl and William Walker; six aunts- Florence and Alma Macklin, Carrie, Rosa, and Magnolia Dunson and Beatrice Howell, and a host of cousins and friends.
