Our beloved Frances Ann Goode, daughter of the late Charlie W. Stone, Sr. and Susie Hudgins Stone Middough, was born February 28, 1930 in Mecklenburg County, VA. Frances Ann Stone Goode, aged 96, of Chase City, VA, entered eternal rest peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on the evening of June 25th in Midlothian ,VA. She married the late John Henry Goode and to this union two children were born, Frances Mae Lawson and Curtis Melvin Goode.
Frances was preceded in death by her siblings: Lawrence Stone, Charlie βJakeβ Stone Jr., James Stone, Lewis Stone, Carroll, Ben, Thomas, and Franklin Middough, Rosa Holmes, Berdie Baskerville, Emily Jones, Mary Brown, Ardell Hughes, Christine and Pattie Middough. Also, she was preceded by one granddaughter- Markia Perez, three nephews- Chesley Jones, Wilbur Jones, and Leroy Baskerville; one niece- Debbie Tisdale and one great nephew- Michael Baskerville.
Frances accepted God at an early age and was a faithful member of Berean Baptist Church. She was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend. She never met a stranger.
Frances was a homemaker and a farmer. She loved to cook. Throughout her life she helped take care of other family members and at the age of 44, she began rearing her oldest granddaughter, Tracey. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her children- Frances Mae Lawson (Thomas) of South Boston, VA and Curtis Melvin Goode (Theresa) of Fredericksburg, VA; four grandchildren- Tracey Rudd (Eric) of Midlothian, VA; Michael Goode (Sandra) of El Paso, TX; Shana Goode of Woodbridge, VA and Tiffany Goode of Triangle, VA; nine great grandchildren- Kelsie, William, Jayden, Aniah, Chuckie Jr., Lily, Malachi, Devonte and Ethan; one great granddaughter- Alora, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
