MR. JAMES ANTHONY GASKINS, SR, affectionately known as “Cisco”, son of the late Sarah Gaskins and James L. Fields, was born February 15, 1956, in Washington, DC and departed this life January 29, 2026, at his residence in Baskerville, VA. He was also preceded in death by a son- James Gaskins, Jr.; siblings- Margay Williams and Diane; grandsons- Darrin G. Goodall and John Lamont Gibson; in-laws, Stevie, Haywood, and Randy Lewis.

He was married to Marsha G. Richardson on April 3, 1974 and to this union a son was born. In 1976 James joined the U.S. Navy and later the U.S. Naval Reserve. He was a bass guitar player for many groups in the area and he loved it to the highest.

James leaves to mourn his wife- Marsha G. Gaskins of the home; daughter- Latisha Gibson of Washington, DC; three grandchildren- Anthony, Alena, and Analisa Gaskins; a host of great-grands; daughter-in-law, Miya Morris, brother- Ralph Gaskins; two sisters- Gail Wise and Marcella Procter, both of Washington, DC; three brothers-in-law, Nathaniel Lewis of Baltimore, MD; Raymond (Carolyn) Richardson of Newport News, VA, and Roger Lewis of Baltimore, MD; four sisters-in-law, Barbara Ann Pierson of Baltimore, MD; Betty Leach of Reisterstown, MD: Robin Lewis of Forest Heights, MD, and Allene Campball of Atlanta, GA; devoted friends- Kevin Smilty, Richard and Rachel Brown, Elsa Gardener, Janet and Rick Kaiser, Andre Smith, and Charles Callahan, and a host of other cousins and friends.
