MR. JAMES DAVID WYMAN, son of the late Charlie and Fannie Bell Sturdivant Wyman was born July 4, 1942, in Wadesboro, NC and departed this life December 15, 2025 in Twins Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, South Hill, VA.

At an early age he was baptized and joined Mt. Zion Holiness Church under the pastorship of Elder Pitt.

He attended the Mecklenburg County Public Schools.

James was married to the late Malinda “Bunch” Smith on March 6, 1972 and she preceded him in death on September 10, 2019. A son he reared, Troy Thomas, preceded him in death also.

In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and watching westerns on TV.

James is survived by a son- Leon (Doris) Stone of South Hill, VA; granddaughter- Ciera Bennett; two great granddaughters- Amiyah and Amani Pryor; three step grandchildren– Mario, Mykisha, and Isaiah Garland; child he reared- Derrick Smith of Richmond, VA; three brothers- Charlie (Pearl) Wyman of Brooklyn, NY; Edward Lee Wyman of Greensboro, NC and Robert Wyman (Dana) of South Hill, VA; two sisters- Gloria Dean (Jeff) Norconk of Fredericksburg, VA and Carrie Whittle of Richmond, VA; brother-in-law, Curtis Thomas; devoted cousins- Grizzell and Stanley Walker; devoted Goddaughter- Tyasia Walker, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
