To the Family and Friends Gathered in Honor of Eudie,
Though I cannot be with you in body, I am fully present in spirit and in profound gratitude for the life and legacy of Mary Estelle "Eudie" Jones Long.
She was family in the deepest sense of the word a living bridge between generations, born of legacy, raised in love, and committed to keeping our family connected, even through life's many turns. She absorbed the strength, wisdom, and faith.
She carried the values of our matriarchs: quiet strength, grace, humility, and a deep love for kin. Her presence held Ant Cena's grounding spirit. And yet, her wisdom was all her own refined by time and softened by compassion.
And she did something rare and sacred she named me. She called me "Toad", and in doing so, gave me more than a nickname. She gave me identity, affection, and a permanent thread in her story. That is a spiritual inheritance I will carry forever.
To Karen, Tonya, and all the family thank you for walking with her, loving her, and now releasing her into eternal peace. Her memory is not gone it is etched in every person she named, loved, and uplifted.
I honor her with you. And I promise to carry her name forward not just in words, but in how I live.
With heartfelt love and remembrance,
Todd Maurice "Toad" Phillips (Named, loved, and forever shaped by Eudie)
