Obituary
Mother Lizzie Idamae Kinchen Crutchfield, daughter of the late Rosa Kinchen was born August 29, 1930 in Greenville County, Emporia, VA and departed this life January 6, 2020 at her residence, LaCrosse, VA.
At an early age she was baptized and joined Macedonia Baptist Church, Emporia, VA. She attended the Greenville County Public Schools.
On September 25, 1948 Lizzie was married to the late Oscar Lee Crutchfield and to this union six children were born, two of whom preceded her in death- Elizabeth Burchett and Allen Crutchfield, and a grandson- Raymond Crutchfield.
After marriage Lizzie joined Prospect RZUA Church, Brodnax, VA. In the 1980’s she joined Bethel Memorial RZUA Church under the pastorship of the late Reverend Hilman C. Wright where she was a member of the Missionary Society. Later in February of 2012 she became Mother of the Church under pastorship of Reverend Malcolm Crutchfield in which she was the oldest mother of the church.
On February 17, 2001 Lizzie married the late Leroy Crutchfield.
In her spare time she enjoyed working cross-word puzzles, sewing, and loved to travel.
Lizzie leaves to cherish her memory four children- Marsha Crawford of the home; Annie (George) Whitfield, South Hill, VA; Rev. Malcolm Crutchfield, Lawrenceville, VA; Arthur (Monique) Crutchfield, Richmond, VA; step-daughter, Shirley Davis, Wilson, NC; 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; special friends- Stella Taylor and Gloria Harrison, and a host of cousins and friends.
It was an honor to have known such a great woman, mother, grandmother, auntie, sister and friend! To have been a part of her life was indeed special and a privilege to me and our family!! You are so loved by us all and will be sorely missed. I will always love you Auntie Lizzie, from Toni and the Douglas family!
Wanted to join in on this celebration of Ms. Lizzie Crutchfield she was
actually our second mother to Ms Bertha Douglas which was a longtime dear friend. Myself Deric, Dale ,Tony ,Kim, Carl Douglas would like to say thanks
for sharing your long life with us. Thank you Mom love you much.
