MOTHER MAGGIE ROSE FEGGINS JONES, born February 15, 1932, to the late Parthenia Feggins Walls, reared by her grandparents, the late William and Bessie Ann Feggins, and answered the call of God to come home on Friday, October 10,2025, at her residence, Bracey, VA.
At an early age she was baptized and joined Free Union RZUA Church. She was educated in the Mecklenburg County Public Schools.
She was married to the late Jesse Jones, Sr. on December 24, 1949. God blessed them with 14 children; 5 of whom preceded her in death- Robert Willie, Sylvia Loretta, Oakley Leroy, Joyce Marie and John Paul. Likewise, so did 4 of her grandchildren.
Mother Maggie was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and worshipped Him while serving in various capacities at Free Union Church. She is the oldest member and mother of the church. Her services included Deaconess, President of the Sr. Usher Board, member of the Pastor’s Aide, Missionary Ministry. Her civil capacities included a member of the Fleur De Lis Social Club and a member of Carnation Chapter #171 Order of the Eastern Star of VA, PHA.
Mother Maggie was a homemaker, taking care of her children and she loved to cook. She was known for her bread pudding, cabbage, and her homemade rolls. She loved watching any game show, the soap opera shows on tv and doing the word find puzzle books.
Left to cherish her precious memories are 9 children: Rev. Jesse (Beverly) Jones, Jr., Dumfries, VA; Herbert (Brenda) Jones, Richmond, VA ; Thelma (Elijah) Oliver, Jetersville, VA; Delphine Sanchez, North Chesterfield, VA; Alonzo Jones, Bracey, VA; Cephus (Marie) Jones, Powder Springs, GA; Parthenia Rose Hughes, North Chesterfield, VA; Min. Samuel (Min. Deborah) Jones, Farmville, NC; Deborah V. Jones, of the home; son-in-law, Milton Jefferson, Richmond, VA; 2 daughters-in-law, Evangeline Jones, Bracey, VA and Yolanda Jones, Brodnax, VA; 37 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; God-daughter- Crystal Murphy White, Emporia, VA; 2 sisters-in-law, Doris Jones, Garnes, NC and Virginia Jones, Bronx, NY; devoted great niece- Regina Jones, Richmond, VA. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to include her extended family: Hazel Walker Jones, Charles Jackson, Jr., Linda W. Green, Rodney Brown, Frances B. Jones, Regina Bracey, Joe Harrison and Elizabeth Ashford; caregivers- Rose Terry, Laura Hurt, Celestine Banks, and Eunice Alexander.
