MR. CHIANTI LAMONT JONES, son of the late Zelma Elaine Jones Washington and the late Owen Ghee, was born May 18, 1977 in Durham, NC. He departed this life September 18, 2021 in VCU-Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents- Annie Mae Jones, Lawrence O. Jones, Sr., and Harold and Courtney Ghee; aunt- Edith J. King and a nephew, Tyler Walker.

He attended Whittle Grove Baptist Church and Park View Senior High School.

Chianti was employed by Unifrax/Rex Materials of Virginia for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed being with family and friends, cutting hair, music, fishing, and he loved to sing. When he came in your presence he would ask "You Aite?" That was his demeanor, being concern, considerate, and loveable.

Chianti leaves to mourn: his daughter- Jakela Jones, Charlotte, NC; sister- Rakeita Jones, Brodnax, VA; father who reared him- Ray “Boobie” Watkins, Brodnax, VA; step-brother, Levi Shaw, FL; three brothers- Harold Ghee and Airion (Hibi) Ghee, all of Baltimore, MD; Lester Thomas, Richmond, VA; adopted sister-Tauheedah Jones, Savannah, GA; fiance’- Tiffany Duncan of the home; six aunts- Earnestine Stukes, Fannie (Harold) Bennett, Felicia (Kenyatti) Peterson, all of South Hill, VA; Rev. Brenda (Calvin) Hutcheson, Bracey, VA; Jerdeanna Foster, Kenbridge, VA and Aneda Boswell, Richmond, VA; four uncles- Wayne (Diana) Jones, Norfolk, VA; Don Jones, South Brunswick, VA; Garry Jones, Richmond, VA, and Elvin Ghee, Baltimore, MD; great-aunt, Gladys Jones, Brodnax, VA; Godchild- Khyson Eaddy; devoted friends- Torrey Thorne, Michael Goode, Ervin Greene, Timothy Cook, and Darius Crayton; devoted cousins- Travis and Yasin Jones, Shelly Hendricks, Alexander “A B” Baskerville, III and Cedric Feggins, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
