MR. EDWARD OGBURN, JR., affectionately called “Uncle Buck,” was born July 13, 1958 to the late Edward Sr. and Mary Liza Smith Ogburn in Mecklenburg County, VA and departed this life September 2, 2021 at his residence in South Hill, VA. He was also preceded in death by his siblings- Marvin Leon Smith and Dorothy Gee.

At an early age he was baptized at Diamond Grove RZUA Church, Union Level, VA. He attended the Mecklenburg County Public Schools.

Edward was married to Barbara Gayles on February 5, 1995.

He was employed by G & G Farms for many years and lastly for Opie Farms until he became ill.

In his spare time Edward enjoyed fishing, watching the westerns, and he loved to be out doors.

Edward leaves to mourn his loss: his devoted wife, Barbara Gayles Ogburn of the home; two daughters- Falishe (Leon) Shaw of Warfield, VA and Tabatha Johnson of South Hill, VA; five grandchildren- Chris (Shaneka) Johnson, Kenyon Johnson, DaQuante Crute, Aniya Moore, and Jakayla Moore, all of South Hill, VA; one great-grandson- Josiah Johnson “Doodlebug”; two brothers- Wayne and David Ogburn of South Hill, VA; special friends- Barbara Gill and Jeff Gill, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
