MR. EVERETT MARCUS ALEXANDER, affectionately called “Al” or “Curly,” and son of the late Edward Hawthorne and Christena Viola Maddox Alexander was born December 19, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA and departed this life December 18, 2020 at his residence, South Hill, VA. He attended Dobbins High School, Philadelphia, PA. He was employed as a long distance truck driver for Tom Hassel Trucking Company for many years until his health began to decline. Everett was married to Shelia Capers on August 26, 1989 and to this union a daughter, Alana, was born. In 2017 they moved to South Hill, VA to make it their home. In his spare time he enjoyed listening to jazz, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends. Everett leaves to cherish his memory is his devoted wife- Shelia C. Alexander of the home; daughter- Alana Alexander, Philadelphia, PA; step-daughter- Angel (Nairobi) Flynn, Drexel Hill, PA; two grandchildren- Alexander and Eliana; three step-grandchildren- Jasmine, Jeremiah and Nadia; two brothers- Calvin Alexander, Philadelphia, PA and Devin Green, Orange, NJ; one sister- Irissa Alexander, South Hill, VA; uncle- Asher Maddux, Blackstone, VA; aunt- Ruth Hillard, Weldon, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
