MR. JOHN FITZGERALD KINNEL, JR, affectionately called “Booty,” was born October 6, 1990 in Mecklenburg County, VA to Luvenia Mae Revis and John F. Kinnel, Sr. He entered into eternal rest on September 15, 2021 at Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC.

At an early age he was baptized at St. Luke Church No. 2, South Hill, VA. He attended Park View Senior High School and later received his GED. He continued his education by attending ECPI for Criminal Justice and later Southside Community College for his CNA. John worked in several jobs until he found his calling which was being a CNA at the Nursing Home in NC.

In his spare time he enjoyed having fun with his friends, dancing and he definitely was a “Fashionista”, and boy could he dress.

John leaves to cherish his memory: his mother- Luvenia Mae Revis of South Hill, VA; father and step-mother, John F. (Gloria) Kinnel, Sr. of South Hill, VA; his fiancé- Tykie Pointer of Durham, NC; sister- Jonnettia F. K. Meredith and step-sister, Christian Holmes both of South Hill, VA; grandparents- Sarah Revis of South Hill, VA; Gloria Jean Kinnel of Mt. Holly, NJ, and Johnnie Kinnel, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA; two aunts- Doris Revis of South Hill, VA, and Mary Frances (Kenneth) Stone of LaCrosse, VA; two uncles- Jake Lee Chavis of South Hill, VA and Shelton (Melissa) Kinnel of Fredrick, MD; great-aunts, Margie Johnson of Victoria, VA; Edith Goode of Brooklyn, NY, and Ercell Bullock of Meredithville, VA; great-uncle, Thomas (Stella) Bullock of South Hill, VA; his dog- Marley Janae’; a special niece- Tristian Carter; his cousin who was like a brother- Jonathan Revis; devoted friends- Walt, Anthony Merritt, Talia Hayes, Nookville, D. J. Jefferson, and Nottia Bullock, and a host of cousin and other friends.

Asking everyone to wear a mask and bring a lawn chair.

I am truly sadden by this news. I pray that God sends comfort to the hearts and souls of your loved ones. You were such a joy to have known.
