MORRIS LEE RAINEY, son of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Jessie Jackson Rainey was born September 17, 1954 in Mecklenburg County, VA and departed this life November 1, 2021 in LaCrosse, VA. A sister- Loretta Rainey Jones and a nephew- Darrell Rainey also preceded him in death.
He attended the Mecklenburg County Public Schools and later received his GED.
He enlisted into the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge.
Morris Lee lived life to the fullest and had an influence on many people lives. He was a confidant. He later moved back to his hometown, South Hill to be with his family whom he dearly loved. He attended many activities and functions with his family and friends.
Morris Lee’s greatest joy was volunteering and being a servant at the local Food Bank in which he went to everyday as if he was a paid employee. He also was the local taxi driver, especially on the 1st and 3rd of the month.
He will be greatly missed by his son- JaVon Rainey, Richmond, VA; devoted sister and caregiver- Leta Rainey McCain, LaCrosse, VA; two brothers- Johnnie (Ophelia) Rainey, Hampton, VA and Theodore “Scope” Rainey, Boydton, VA; seven nephews- Jermaine (Delina) Rainey, James “Jimmy” McCain II, Dominic Rainey, Jeremy (Shalandrea) McCain, Sherman Jones Jr., Johnnie R. Rainey, Jr.and Joshua Rainey; two nieces- Talaya Griffin and Minister Jessica Jones; nine great-nieces, two great-nephews; devoted cousins- Caroll Malik, Betty Carter and Margaret Raines; devoted friends to name a few but not all- Lewis and Spencer Miller, Shakey, Ty, Shortie Pimp, Nub, and Joyce Mae.
We are asking those who are attending to please wear a mask.
Going to miss him. He was such a good kind hearted man. Was always smiling when I saw him. Prayers for the family.

Morris Lee was always a joyful person through childhood and as an adult. He made you laugh whether you wanted to or not. He never let me forget about our childhood days and the love and connection of our families. He would tell me that he was my protector. Thank God for our friendship. RIP my friend Roberta

Morris Rainey was a Good friend. He was best friends with my step Daddy Thomas(TJ) Jefferies and My mother Edith Jefferies. They were best friends until he die. He was like and uncle to me.He will be truly miss.I will keep your family in my prayers. Carletta Williams
I will greatly miss my friend of two short years at the Food Bank. We shared a love for watermelon and he made sure when we got some at the Food Bank, I always got some. Thanks for your kindness.
