MRS. BERDIE MAE STONE BASKERVILLE, daughter of the late Charlie W. Stone, Sr. and Susie Hudgins Middough, was born July 29, 1929 and departed for her heavenly home on December 9, 2021 at the age of 92 while residing in Chase City Health and Rehab Center, Chase City, VA. She was born in Mecklenburg County, VA where she also attended school.She was married to the late Charlie R. Baskerville and to this union three children were born- Arlene B. Hardy, Charlie L. Baskerville and Franklin Baskerville. Arlene and Charlie Leroy preceded her in death. Other members of the family who also preceded her in death were a daughter-in-law and grandson; her siblings- Rosa Holmes, Emily Jones, Lawrence, Charlie, Clarence, James and Lewis Stone; step-sisters- Ardell Hughes and Pattie Middough; step-brothers- Ben, Thomas and Carrol Middough.After marriage they moved to Chase City, VA where she became a member of Berean Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Senior Choir until her health began to decline.She was a homemaker and loved to cook and enjoyed being with her grandchildren.Berdie leaves to cherish her memories a son- Franklin Baskerville; a devoted niece-Helen W.( Rev. Chester) Terry; step-brother, Franklin Middough; a loving sister- Francis Goode and a devoted sister-in-law, Rosa A. Stone; also cherishing her memories are seven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
