MRS. JOSEPHINE MELVIA HUTCHINSON BRYANT, daughter of the late Roseanna Hutchinson Patrick and step-daughter of the late Raymond Patrick was born August 11, 1940 in Mecklenburg County, VA and departed this life May 20, 2021 in the Hundley Center, South Hill, VA. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Julian Bryant and brother, Harold R. Hutchinson.

At an early age she was baptized and joined Gethsemane Baptist Church.

Josie as she was so fondly called, was a 1960 graduate of the former East End High School.

She later moved to Washington, DC where she was employed in many different capacities. Her most rewarding job was working as a Nanny for many years.

Josie loved to go shopping, keeping up with the latest fashions and traveling.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her niece- Katrina (Reginald) Price; six great nieces and nephews; an adoptive son- Alfred Baskerville and wife- Reverend Sharon Baskerville, South Hill, VA; devoted friends-Sheila Burgess, Washington, DC; JoAnn R. Hodges, Savannah, GA; Frances Hendricks, Chester, VA; Annie Baskerville, Ruth Randolph, and Jennifer Walker, all of South Hill, VA; Minister Virginia Blackwell, Brodnax, VA; Gladys Tanner and Rosenell Baskerville, LaCrosse, VA; the Gethsemane Baptist Church Family and the Hundley Center Staff.
