MS. DORETHA HOLMES, affectionately called “Peaches,” and daughter of the late Chestley and Martha Baskerville Holmes was born March 18, 1951 in Baltimore, MD and departed this life June 28, 2022 in Centra Lynchburg General Hospital, Lynchburg, VA.
At an early age she was baptized and joined Bethel Memorial RZUA Church. She was a graduate of the former East End High School Class of 1969.
“Peaches” later moved to New Jersey where she attended church and was employed by a Pharmaceutical Company for many years.
She was married to the late Vernon Carter. She was also preceded in death by her son, Malcolm Holmes.
She later moved back to Virginia and resided in Danville, VA. She was employed as a CNA until her retirement.
“Peaches” leaves to cherish her memories her sister- Doretha H. Talley of LaCrosse, VA; brother- Oliver Holmes of Plainfield, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
