PHYLLIS JEAN BUGG, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Merritt Bugg, was born April 21, 1962, in Mecklenburg County, Virginia and departed this life October 8, 2025 at Johnston Willis Hospital, Richmond, Virginia. She was preceded in death by a sister, Vernelle Bugg.

Phyllis attended Mecklenburg County Public Schools. In 1985 she moved to Richmond, Virginia. She was employed for many years at Phillip Morris Tobacco Company until she became disabled.

In her spare time, she enjoyed sitting in that one spot in her house, looking out the window to see what is going on and doing her puzzles. She was a Dallas Cowboys’ fan.

Phyllis leaves to cherish her memories are her four children- Andre, Latesha, and Latoria Bugg and Antwinette (Dwayne) Ball, all of Richmond, Virginia; 13 grandchildren; four sisters- Barbara Cosby of Chester, Virginia; Mamie and Shirley Bugg of Richmond, Virginia; Celestine Jones of South Hill, VA; five brothers- Richard Bugg, Thomas (Martha) Bugg, and David Bugg, all of Richmond, Virginia; Randy Bugg of Jonesboro, Indiana, and Michael (Sherry) Bugg of Richmond, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
