ROBERT MOODY ALEXANDER, son of the late Elmo P. and Lue Ethel Alexander was born August 7, 1948 in their home, Palmer Springs, VA. He was the sixth of nine siblings. God took him from his earthly home to his heavenly home, Sunday, April 3, 2022 in Kansas City, MO, while surrounded by his wife and family.

Moody was baptized at an early age and joined Jerusalem Christian Church under the pastorship of his grandfather, Reverend P.R. Alexander.

He was educated at Cotton Creek School, Palmer Springs, VA and the former East End High School, South Hill, VA.

After graduating high school, he moved to Richmond, VA to live with his Aunt Helen and shortly after he moved to New Jersey. While in New Jersey, he started working for Ford Motor Company of Mahwah until the plant closed. He later accepted a transfer to Ford Motor Company of Claycomo and moved to Kansas City, MO.

Moody later met the love of his life, LaTanya Albritton; they were married on May 29, 1993.

After his retirement for over thirty years with Ford Motor Company; he worked for the Raytown C-2 School District as a special need and a sporting events bus driver for eighteen years and retired again.

During his years in Kansas City, he was a member of Paseo Baptist Church and served on the Sound Board Ministry and Church Van Ministry.

Moody was a proud member of the Masonic Order for 33 years and achieved the title of Most Worshipful Master (Presiding Officer) of Prince Hall Lodge of Fred W. Dabney Lodge #24 in Kansas City, MO for four plus years.

Moody never met a stranger and his personality was larger than life. He was an avid lover of music. He enjoyed DJ’ing, golfing, attending sporting events, traveling to visit family, and talking on the phone with family and friends.

Moody leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, LaTanya Alexander of the home; two daughters- Taiwanna “Shelly” Alexander, High Point, NC and Kiela Albritton, Kansas City, MO; son- Robert “Boobie” Alexander, Miami, FL; bonus daughter- Cheri Snipes (Maurice), Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren-Paige, Paris, KJ, and Cameron; two bonus grandchildren- Camryn and Amahri; five brothers- Mark H. (Etta) Alexander, Irvington, NJ; Malvin Clifton Alexander, Wichita Falls, TX; Washington Douglas (Marie) Alexander, Boydton, VA; Elmo (Connie) Alexander, Jr., Cincinnati, OH, and Cornelius Samuel (Joan)Alexander, Richmond, VA; three sisters- Cynthia (Alfred) Winston, Richmond, VA; Helen Vernell (Mack) Jones, East Orange, NJ, and Dorine (Darryl) Felder, Chesterfield, VA; devoted friend- Joseph “Joe” Huguenin, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends.

Funnies about Moody (by his siblings)

-Moody’s birth given name was Plummer Robert Moody Alexander. Once he was able to write he came from school and complained to Mama that he had TOO many names to fit on the paper...and he was dropping one. So, Plummer was dropped and he later made it officially...Robert Moody Alexander. -Moody as a child absolutely hated farm work. He would talk and complain about the sun being too hot, until daddy would send him home. We were picking cucumbers one HOT day and Moody was complaining and complaining “as usual”. All of us ignored him and continued to pick cucumbers trying to finish as quickly as possible. Finally...Moody stood up, put his hands on his hips and said “I CLARE THE SUN AIN’T SHINING ON NOBODY BUT ME!” Daddy responded...“BOY GO HOME.” That was exactly what Moody wanted. -Moody was fascinated with a bird house he saw hanging in the yard of a neighbor. So, when we got home, he got a hammer, nails, wood, saw, paint and brush and proceeded to build him a bird house. To our surprise...Moody built a bird house, painted it white...and it was just like our house. -He was also fascinated with music so he would get old cans, buckets, and sticks and made drums to make noise...not music. When he got to high school, he joined the marching band and played the trumpet.
