ROBERT WILLIAMS, JR., son of Otelia Lewis Williams and the late James Williams, was born June 8, 1946 in Mecklenburg County, VA and departed this life October 1, 2019 at VCU-Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Estelle and Carnell Williams.
At an early age he was baptized and joined Temple Gate RZUA Church. Robert was a graduate of the former East End High School. Following graduation, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served from 1966-1969.
Robert was married to Faye Dunson and to this union three children were born.
Robert later moved to Powhatan, VA where he became employed at Wesvaco Box Company and retired after 23 years of service.
Robert moved back to South Hill where he became a member of Impact Church of God, South Hill, VA. He then married Clenette Boone on February 14, 2017.
In his spare time Robert enjoyed fishing, being an auto body mechanic, playing spades and checkers, and a junkman.
Robert leaves to cherish his wife- Clenette Boone Williams of the home; three children- Tracey Davis and Myrna Moore, both of Charlotte, NC, and Robert Nathan (Charnetta) Williams, Powhatan, VA; step-son- Wendell (Stanisha) Hargrove, Richmond, VA; mother- Otelia Williams, Petersburg, VA; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren; one sister- Pamela (Rick) Mason, Richmond, VA; sister-in-law, Kathleen Campbell; brother-in-law, Melvin Hargrove; aunt- Gracie Duke; God-daughter- Joy Robinson, Chase City, VA; special niece- Nadine Williams, and a host of other nieces and nephews, special cousins, and friends.
