MRS. VIRGINIA MASON HARGROVE, daughter of the late Joe Macklin Phillips and Anna Mae Boswell Phillips was born October 16, 1939 in Union Level, VA and departed this life suddenly October 16, 2019 in Bonview Rehab and Healthcare Center, Richmond, VA.

At an early age she was baptized and joined North View Baptist Church. She was a graduate of the former East End High School.

Virginia was married to the late Arthur L. Hargrove, Sr. and to this union five children were born.

Virginia was employed by West End Restaurant and later Brodnax Mills until her retirement.

In her spare time she enjoyed visiting family and friends, watching Steve Harvey on the Family Feud and watching the soap operas. She enjoyed eating the fish sandwiches at McDonalds and loved drinking tomato juice.

Virginia leaves to mourn five children- Vivian and Jacqueline Hargrove of the home; Brenda Hargrove, Shirley Hargrove and Arthur Lee Hargrove, Jr., all of South Hill, VA; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters- Marie Holmes of South Hill, VA and Betty Hargrove of New Haven, CT; sister-in-law, Ercell Hendrick of Blackridge, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
