JOURNEY OF LIFE On the afternoon of Tuesday, February 11, 2020, ALLAH needed another angel who rose to the occasion, no other than, YASIN IMMANUEL-BEY (Jeff). He was born April 25, 1975 to Shirley M. Hicks and the late Hughie Walker, Sr., named Jeffrey Len Hicks. Jeff received his formal education from Mecklenburg County Public Schools and attended the Art Institute of Miami, FL. His quest for knowledge never stopped. Jeff studied several religions, but he re fused to commit to just one school of thinking, until he discovered Islamism (the practice of PEACE) much later in life. Jeff was a member of a rap group called “Cesspool.” He attended truck driving school and then began his career as a professional driver (he disliked being called a truck driver). Jeff took pride in carrying on his father’s legacy as a truck driver and a father. His greatest joy however came from being a father to his beautiful daughters Jabreia Camay Clark and JahMalika Desere Hicks. In 2014 Jeff reconnected with Dione Drummond. In November of 2016 Jeff met a Moorish American Moslem Brother, named Nasir Ma’at-EL, who introduce him to the Prophet Noble Drew Ali and he began to study. His soul had been set on fire with Holy Zeal. In 2017, Jeffrey Len Hicks became YASIN IMMANUEL-BEY. Yasin continued to study on and off the road, he was thirsty and excited to learn. In 2018, he became a faithful member of the Moorish Science Temple of America, Temple #39, Raleigh, NC “Bethlehem.” Yasin was always willing to assist the Grand Sheik Nasir Ma’at-El and Grand Sheikess Hope Ma’at’EL. He was a religious man. He loved ALLAH and had found the true meaning of LOVE. He loved to be of assistance to his brothers/sisters. He was not big in stature, but he had a heart of a giant. On September 21, 2018, Yasin solidified his union to Dione Drummond and two hearts, souls and families became one. The family grew instantly and Yasin was always grateful. Yasin was industrious, private, loyal, and a loving man. He was quick to give himself; his generosity was unwavering. He was a prankster; he loved to laugh and to make others laugh. He was patient and considerate of others. He remained studious and he began to require action from his family. He understood the importance of knowledge. Yasin was an avid Transformer collector and he loved to eat “good food.” He loved Marvel action movies and loved history, something he shared with his son, Christian. He had a quiet strength always offering encouragement and his assistance to so many. Yasin did not appreciate confrontation or chaos. He was a man of action not a complainer. He did not speak ill of anyone, he only wanted to love and be loved. He was a happy man; he loved his wife and all of his children. He understood that true happiness came from within. He was a home-body and was excited to share his home with family and friends. Forever cherishing his memory are: his loving wife, Dione Immanuel-Bey; his mother- Shirley M. Hicks, Baskerville, VA; parents-in-love, Wilson and Dorothy Drummond, LaCrosse, VA; children- Trooper Jabreia Camay Clark, South Hill, VA; JahMaika Desere Hicks, Raleigh, NC; Cameron, Christian, and Cyrus Davis-Bey, Boydton, VA; siblings- Hughie Walker, Jr., Richmond, VA; Marvin (Della) Walker, South Hill, VA; Tracey Walker, Richmond, VA; Stacey Walker (Melvin) Reed, Glen Allen, VA; Timu (Jeremy) Nicholson, Valentines, VA; Shanelle Harris, Richmond, VA; close friends- Patrick Brown, South Hill, VA; Sean McIntosh, Charlotte, NC; and Tenorris Turner, Shelbyville, IN, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
