OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Morning Star Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA for 1ST SGT Joseph Lee Cook, 68, who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 in Pineville, LA. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.
Rev. Gerald Toussaint, Pastor of Morning Star Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service. 1ST SGT Cook was retired from the United States Army.
1ST SGT Cook’s memories are being cherished by: his companion, Lesa F. Lee of Opelousas, LA; two sons, Eric Guillory and Joseph Jermaine Cook, Jr., both of Opelousas, LA; one daughter, Lesa M. Lee (Malon) of Opelousas, LA; six brothers, Calvin Cook, Wayne Aggison, Patrick (Joann) Aggison, Samuel Moore, Jr. and Larry Moore, all of Opelousas, LA and Curtis (Stephanie) Aggison of Bryant, TX; three sisters, Constance Aggison Brown, Denise Aggison Anderson (Joseph) and Debbie Aggison Guillory, all of Opelousas, LA; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren,nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; Godchildren, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Samuel Moore, Sr. and Ruby Mae Cook Aggison; two brothers, Gerald and Frank Aggison, Jr.; two sisters, Elizabeth Moore and Brenda Cook; two great nephews, Jermaine Oneil Guillory and Joseph Guillory..
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Morning Baptist Church.
