LAWTELL - Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lawtell, LA for Ms. Alisha Marie Eli, 58, who entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. A prayer will begin at 10:30 a.m. Father Borgia Aubespin, S.V.D. will be officiating the memorial mass. Ms. Eli leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Lee Belle Ned of Opelousas, LA; her daughter, Latoya S. Eli of Opelousas, LA; seven grandchildren, Jordan Duplechain, Christopher Freeman, Traelon Arnaud, Javion Clay, Sidney Freeman, Arianna Lanclos and Kilann Comeaux; two brothers, Carl Ned (Jeanne) of Opelousas, LA and Christopher Ned (Cora) of La Habra, CA; three sisters, Cynthia M. Jackson (Reginald) of Beaumont, TX, Christina Underwood (Lee) of Scottsdale, AZ and Angie Jordan of Orlando, FL; her life companion, Wayne Garnett of Baton Rouge, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Words cannot express how sorry I was to hear about the loss of Alisha. She was such a nice person who always had a beautiful smile on her face every time I saw her. No matter what she was going through she always greeted me with a smile. Our families go way back and I will never forget the good times that our families shared together. I will continue to pray for both the NED and Eli family.
I remember not long after I met Cynthia, Lisha opened up her doors to me when Cynthia and I spent a weekend in Louisiana. Lisha was beautiful inside and out and always had a smile.
