Obituary For Alton Guillory

OPELOUSAS – A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home for Mr. Alton Guillory, 73, who entered eternal rest on Friday, October 31, 2025 at his residence in Opelousas, LA.

Pastor Lionel Rubin will officiate the celebration of life.

Mr. Guillory’s memories are being cherished by: his spouse, Janice Marie Guillory of Opelousas, LA; three bonus daughters, Janet Simmons, Muriel Chavis and Roberta Simmons, all of Opelousas, LA; one brother, Mose (Delores) Guillory of Houston, TX; two uncles, Al Benjamin and Larry Guillory; one aunt, Julia Ann Batiste; three Godchildren, Michelle Savoy and Cody Malveaux, both of Opelousas, LA and Anita Guillory of New Orleans, LA; four brothers-in-law, Edward (Charline) Rubin of Washington, LA, Kelvin Rubin of Opelousas, LA, Lawrence (Renee) Rubin of Dallas, TX and Chester (Isabella) Rubin, Jr. of Port Arthur, TX; four sisters-in-law, Sandra Chaney, Sophie Rubin, Sheila Rubin and Denise Guillory; eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Allen and Shirley Mae Guillory; six brothers, Allen (his twin), Charles Patrick, Reggie, Al Terry, Paul Wayne and Thomas Guillory; father and mother-in-law, Chester Rubin, Sr. and Rosa Lee Rubin; maternal grandparents, Mose and Julia Batiste; paternal grandparents, Albert and Ruby Guillory; one sister, Rita Ann Harris; son-in-law, James Chavis; one nephew, Marcus Guillory; one brother-in-law, Robert Lee Rubin; two sisters-in-law, Linda Rubin and Carolyn Rubin; and one great grandchild, Chaslynn Faith Pitre.
