OPELOUSAS- Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Northside Church of Christ, 9026 LA-182, Opelousas, LA, for Ms. Anastasia B. Simms, 17, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 14, 2021 in San Antonio, TX. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Brother Jawaski will be officiating the funeral services.
Anastasia’s memories are being cherished by: her father, Meguel A. Simms, Sr. of Opelousas, LA and her mother, Eva M. McDowell of College Station, TX; her daughter, Avionna Elaine Blair of San Antonio, TX; one brother, Meguel Simms, Jr. of Bastrop, LA; four sisters, Ta’Maya McDowell and Olivia McDowell, both of San Antonio, TX, Zoe Rizzutto of Port Allen, LA and Mechelle Simms of Bastrop, LA; paternal grandmother, Jennifer Simms of Opelousas, LA; aunts and uncles, Hope Richard (Ludovick) and Bridgette McDowell, both of Lafayette, LA, Casper Claiborne, Jr. of Opelousas, LA and Tikiwia Wallace of Houston, TX; Godmother, Christina Balentine of San Antonio, TX; one niece, Sariyah Lanay Robinson of Detroit, MI; and host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her maternal grandparents, Evelyn Semien and Joseph Charles Semien; paternal grandfather, Larry Guillory; and an uncle, Michael McDowell.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Northside Church of God.

My beautiful baby, god only knows how much I want to be there and how much I miss you. You were my light baby, and still are. I am eternally in your debt for the amount of times you made me laugh and uplifted me. I love you with all my heart. You've always been a warrior for what you believe in. I just know you're up there in heaven making all of the angels amongst you laugh. Your spirit is felt on each and every person you impacted.
