VILLE PLATTE - Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at St. John Baptist Church, 824 West Hickory St., Ville Platte, LA for Mrs. Arlene Frances Thornton Abraham, 63, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at University Hospital and Clinics in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be in St. John Memorial Garden.
Rev. Freddie Jack, Pastor of St. John Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service.
Mrs. Abraham leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Clarence Boyd of Alexandria, LA; two daughters, Latasha Abraham of Lafayette, LA and Regan Boyd of Tomball, TX; four brothers, Robert (Eva) Thornton of Columbia, LA, Mitchell Thornton of Grayson, LA, Charles (Rose) Thornton and Van (Crystal) Compton of Dallas, TX; four sisters, Rosa Meadors (Harold) of Tacoma, WA, Barbara Simmons of Columbia, LA, Daisy Lewis (Lorenzo) of Odenton, MD and Lesa Lewis (Greg) of Snellville, GA; one brother-in-law, John (Bertha) Abraham of Wharton, TX; three sisters-in-law, Carrie Mae Bridges of Hawthorne, CA, Gladys Swafford of Colfax, LA and Celeste Clark (Leon) of Battle Creek, MI; five grandchildren, Koriey Dixon, Kamille Dixon, Jamarion Boyd, Allonna Boyd and Micah Johnson; Godchildren, Michael Hudson and Maura Jack; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Clarence Abraham; her parents, R.L. Thornton and Alynne Johnson Compton; one brother, Dwight Thornton; and one grandson, Jamichael Boyd.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at St. John Baptist Church.

Auntie Arlene was pure joy all the time. I've never seen her with a frown even when she corrected us she will truly be miss. My condolences to my dear cousin I continue praying for your strength and peace.
