OPELOUSAS – A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home for Mr. Awen Carl Fontenot, 45, who entered eternal rest on Monday, August 11, 2025 at his residence in Opelousas, LA.

Mr. Fontenot’s memories are being cherished by: sons, Jamauri Gant of Baton Rouge, LA and Jayceon Landry of Opelousas, LA; daughters, Kiemanie Landry, Amaya Landry, Ky’miyah Landry and Layla Fontenot, all of Opelousas, LA, grandson, Ka’Mauri Landry of Opelousas, LA, sister, Kenya Fontenot of Moss Bluff, LA, nephews, Quentin Simon, Colby Isaac, Cody Isaac, Ky Fontenot all Moss Bluff, LA, aunt, Carolyn Bridges (Samuel Nathaniel) of Sumter, SC, uncle Terry Fontenot of Amarillo, TX, cousins Durward White (Tonya), Antoin Espritt II (Char), Dexter Fontenot (Andrea), Lorenza Fontenot both of Opelousas, LA, Benjamin Fontenot (Luvenia) of Houston, TX, Scheniqua Fontenot of Lake Charles, LA, David Bridges (TaKelia) of Columbia, SC, LaCresha Fontenot of Houston, TX, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his beloved grandmother, Edna Mae Fontenot; his mother, Donaleigh Fontenot; aunt Cynthia Fontenot, one son, Awen C. Fontenot, Jr.; and an uncle, Danna Fontenot.
