OPELOUSAS – A private gathering to celebrate the life of Mrs. Barbara Collins, 74, who peacefully entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 09, 2023, at her residence in Opelousas, LA, will be held among family and friends.
Mrs. Collins is survived by her two sons, Turq Daniels of Kennesaw, GA, and Eric (Johanna) Collins of Opelousas, LA; one brother, Michael Taylor of San Diego, CA; and one sister, Judy Taylor of Dallas, TX. Cherishing her memory are six grandchildren: Kyrin, Destinee, Kaleb, Khobi, Carson, and Parker, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Mrs. Collins is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Collins; her parents, Alcide Daniels, Sr. and Octavia Pitre Daniels; one brother, Alcide Daniels, Jr.; and two sisters, Joyce Charles, and Clara Harrison.
The family expresses sincere gratitude to Gail Hammond (niece), Lori Williams (friend), Gail Young (cousin) and Larry Andrus (neighbor).
