OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA for Ms. Barbara Rosette, 73, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at her residence in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.
Rev. Norlan Arvie, Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she served as the Chairperson for the Food Ministry.
Ms. Rosette leaves to cherish her memories: four sons, Johnnie (Pam) Rosette of Baton Rouge, LA, Alton (Kriztianna) Rosette of Beaumont, TX, Simon (Tonetta) Rosette of Opelousas, LA and Kevin (Britney) Rosette of Spring, TX; Betty Rosette (John) and Barbara Lynn Rosette (Coy), both of Opelousas, LA; two sisters, Hazel Thomas and Margaret Rosette, both of Opelousas, LA; Godchild, Deborah Rosette of Lawtell, LA; fifteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Ms. Rosette is preceded in death by: her parents, Octave and Annie Rosette; her significant other, Simon Demouchet; three brothers, Octave, Lee and Adrian Rosette; two sisters, Annie Mae Rosette and Laura Woods; a grandchild, Simon L. Demouchet; brother-in-law, Alcide Thomas; and a nephew, Ray Rosette.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
