OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024 at First United Pentecostal Church of Opelousas, 1437 Judson Walsh Dr., Opelousas, LA for Ms. Brenda Kay Bordelon, 58, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.
Rev. Anthony Polotzola and Rev. Daniel Naquin will be officiating the funeral service.
Ms. Bordelon’s memories are being cherished by: two sons, Brandon Viverata of Baton Rouge, LA and Jon Bordelon of Crooked Creek, LA; one daughter, Erika Peel of Palm Bay, FL; one brother, Randy (Betty) Welch of Opelousas, LA; five sisters, Barbara Martin of Hineston, LA, Linda Lally (Jack) of Washington, LA, Elizabeth Welch of Opelousas, LA, Cathy Dupre (Jay) of Plaisance, LA and Tammy Trahan (Denny) of Grand Prairie, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Roland “RC” Welch and Marjorie McClelland Welch; two brothers, Theodore Welch and Roger Dale Welch, Sr.; one sister, Carla Welch Boudreaux; two nephews, John White and Teddy Welch; and two nieces, Jessica Welch and Cierra Welch.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at First United Pentecostal Church of Opelousas.
Active Pallbearers will be: Bobby Welch, Billy Welch, Quinn David, Randy Welch, Drue Ardoin and Jose Alejandro Vega. Honorary Pallbearers will be her children, Brandon, Jon and Erika.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to: Acadian Palliative Care; Ochsner Lafayette General ICU Staff and Ochsner University Hospital and Clinics Oncology Department.
