OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA for Ms. Catherine M. Denton, 64, who entered eternal rest on Monday, July 25, 2022, at her residence in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Star Light Baptist Church Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.
Rev. Paul Murphy, Sr., pastor of Starlight Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service.
Ms. Denton’s memories are being cherished by: lifelong partner, Earl Daniel of Opelousas, LA; one son, Albert (Monica) Denton, Sr. of Opelousas, LA; one daughter, Kissey Denton (Malcolm Collins) of Opelousas, LA; a special nephew/son, Juan Bourgeois, Jr. of Opelousas, LA; six sisters, Martha Griffin, Julia Thomas, Molly Williams, Lucille Andrus, Mary Denton and Ruby Denton, all of Opelousas LA; her niece who was reared as a sister, Sarah Denton Joseph (Paul) of Plaisance, LA; two brothers-in-law, Frank Daniel of Opelousas, LA and Charles Daniel of Houston, TX; one sister-in-law, Emily Daniel of Opelousas, LA; seven grandchildren, Quindasha Collins, Ameasha Collins, Iyrek Collins, Albert Denton, Jr., Kocha Denton, Ashton Jones and Atlanta Denton; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Deris and Orelia Denton; one brother, Rubin Denton; one sister, Ruthell Denton; two grandchildren, Malcolm Collins, Jr. and Anthony Denton; two brohers-in-law, Marshall Daniel and Bud Daniel; two sisters-in-law, Juanita Daniel and Rebecca Daniel; three nephews, Frederick Griffin, Ron Griffin and Milton Thomas; and one niece, Roxanne D. Hardy.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.
