OPELOUSAS - Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA for Mr. Cephus Greene, Jr., 73, who entered eternal rest on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas, LA.

Evangelist Janice M. Thibodeaux will be officiating the funeral service.

Mr. Greene leaves to cherish his memories: his daughter, Latricia Rubin of Palmetto, LA; three brothers, Robert (Hilda) Greene of Ville Platte, LA, Herbert Greene of Opelousas, LA and Anthony (Jackie) Greene of Houston, TX; five sisters, Jessie M. Vallian, Bessie Greene and Norma Davis, all of Opelousas, LA, Rita Mickens of Crowley, LA and Janice M. Thibodeaux of Houston, TX; three Godchildren, Lionel Rubin, David Carrier and Lashonda Lazard, both of Opelousas, LA; three special friends, Sophie Rubien, Mary Ford and Shirley Nelson, all of Opelousas, LA; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cephus Green, Sr. and Willie Mae Veazie Greene and four brothers, Harold Greene, Joseph Greene, Paul Greene and Donald Greene.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.
