OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Our Savior’s Church, 202 Our Savior’s Church Blvd., Opelousas, LA for Mr. Davion Fugett, affectionately known by his family and friends as “Mookie”, 22, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice, LA.

Bishop Easton Shelvin, Pastor of The Truth Is Ministry, will be officiating the funeral service.

Mookie’s memories are being cherished by: his mother, Arlene Payne Fugett (Creighton); fiancée, Niyah Augustine of Opelousas, LA; one son, Ali Kasai Fugett of Opelousas, LA; four brothers, Reginald (Octavia) Chachere of Katy, TX, Da’Vonte Fugett, Miguel Payne and D’Marcus (Ijaelle) Fugett, all of Opelousas, LA; one sisters, Desiree Fugett (DeVante’) of Opelousas, LA; maternal grandmother, Doris Bell (Gregory); paternal grandmother, Bevela Wilson (Rev. J.C.) of Eunice, LA; thirteen nieces and nephews; Godparents, Jamie Hayward and Linda Goodson; best friends, Kamryn Sion and Vernon Goins, III, both of Opelousas, LA; and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his father, Derek Fugett; paternal grandfather, Isaac Fugett; and maternal grandfather, Benjamin Payne.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Our Savior’s Church.
