CROWLEY – Wake will be held at 8:00 a.m. and the Rosary will start at 9:00 a.m. The memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on 30, December, 2020 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Duson, Louisiana for Mr. Edwin “Keith” Handy, 44, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Ochsner Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA.

Rev. Aaron Melancon will be officiating the memorial service.

Mr. Handy leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, De Anna Handy of Baton Rouge, LA; his parents, Louis Handy, Jr. and Ella Handy of Crowley, LA; two sons, Deion Handy of Fort Hood, TX and Aden Handy of Kingsport, TN; one daughter, Mallory Handy of Kingsport, TN; one sister, Kalisha Handy of Centerton, AR; one brother, Frank Andrus, Sr. of Gray, LA maternal grandmother, Ivory Solomon of Crowley, LA; one nephew, Frank Andrus, Jr. of Crowley, LA; and a host of relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by: his paternal Grandfather, Louis Handy, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Sarah Handy; and maternal grandfather, Albert Solomon.

My family is deeply sorry about the loss of Keith. As you grieve, know that we are remembering and honoring him with prayer. I will always remember him in many positive ways with a big smile and a great sense of humor. He was an intelligent young man and he always had great a story to tell. We loved him dearly. Coach, Ella, Kalisha, DeAnna, Deion, Aden, Mallory and Frank. Our heart goes out to y'all during this difficult time. In Loving Memory of your Son Keith. Your son Keith was a Blessing to everyone he was able to cross paths with. He was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. The loss of a son is one of the greatest losses in life. I am thinking of during this difficult time and I am here for you whenever you need me. I hope that your memories of your son bring you the inner peace that surpasses all understanding, comfort and strength.

DeAnna, Bro, Ella, Kalisha, Deion, Aden, Mallory, Frank. It is very hard to loose some one we love. It is not God's will that we do so, And it's never easy. Jehovah hates death; he views it as an enemy. 1 Cor.15:26 (reads) and the last enemy death will be brought to nothing. He has a longing to conquer the enemy, to undo death by means of the resurrection. He yearns to bring back those were in his memory and to see them live on earth again that is a promise from Jehovah, and he will fulfill it so we can look forward to seeing Keith again.

I really and truly don't know what to say, but I can say this "God don't make mistakes, he still sits on the throne ". This comforts my soul also. Coach Handy, Ella Mae and Kalisha, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. I was and still is heartbroken, when I heard the news about Keith. He have a smile that would lighten up the room.
