Obituary For Evelyn "Sista" Horns Toussaint

OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA for Ms. Evelyn Horns Toussaint, affectionately known by her family and friends as “Sista”, 70, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 24, 2025 in Conroe, TX. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Pastor Nolan Arvie, Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service. Ms. Toussaint was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she served as an Usher.

Ms. Toussaint’s memories are being cherished by: her son, Juan Horns (Shanna) of Opelousas, LA; two grandchildren, Devon and Juwan Horns, both of Opelousas, LA; one bonus granddaughter, Aubree “Okiedokie” of Opelousas, LA; one God Daughter, Paula Son of Dallas, TX ; two special nephews, Austin and Alec Dunbar, both of Broussard, LA; two special great nieces, Shayla Dunbar of Fairfax, VA and Ja’Sonti Sonn of New Iberia, LA; dear friends of many years, Annie Johnson Benjamin of Broussard, LA, Felecia M. Ford and Ethel “Winkie” Davis, both of Opelousas, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Mr. William Horns and Mrs. Ophelia Hudson Horns and five brothers, Louis “Tadney” Sonn, Sr., Rev. Joseph “Smokey” Taylor, Paul “Bishop” Son, Clarence “Bubba” Sonn and Willie “Squirrel” Horns.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
