OPELOUSAS - Funeral services for Fannie Mae Rideaux Brown will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday April 14, 2023 at Bellevue Street Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA. Fannie Mae Rideaux Brown, affectionately known simply as “Mae” or “Aunt Macy,” entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 while at her home in Opelousas, Louisiana. Fannie Mae was a life-long resident of Louisiana. She lived in New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina at which time she returned to live in Opelousas until her death.
Fannie Mae was preceded in death by: her husband, William J. Brown, Sr.; her parents, Hector and Fannie Rideaux; older son, Patrick Lee Rideaux; seven brothers, Relis, Floyd, James, Alvin, Martin, Earsby and Kirby Rideaux; four sisters, Lou Ella Garrison, Loney Hudson, Lou Ethel Wiltz and Rosa Price; four brothers-in-law, Charlie Hudson Sr., Wilmer Wiltz, Leonard Price and Phillip Garrison, Sr.; and four sisters-in-law, Irma, Enola, Ethel and Mary Rideaux.
Fannie Mae leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Kevin J. (Jessica) Brown of Opelousas, LA; four grandchildren, Patrick (Rynette) Rideaux, Jr., Alyssa Milton, Keiara Brown, Kevin Brown, Jr.; two great-grandchildren Patrick Rideaux, III and Amora Katon; two sisters-in-law, Modest Rideaux of Houston, TX and Rita Rideaux of Baton Rouge, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 8:00a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Bellevue Street Baptist Church.
