Obituary For Francis Major

OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Community Chapel Church of God in Christ, 1606 W. College Ave., Opelousas, LA for Mr. Francis Paul Major, 83, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Opelousas General Health System. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Rev. Frank L. Ford, Pastor of Community Chapel Church of God in Christ, will be officiating the funeral service.

Mr. Major’s memories are being cherished by: his wife, Vivian Major of Opelousas, LA; three sons, Perry Paul (Trish) Major of Columbia, Maryland, Mark Eldridge (Ommanda) Major of Lafayette, LA and Mitchell Major of Houston, TX; one daughter, Melissa Lewis (Vernon) of Port Allen, LA; four sisters, Rosa Mae Major, Patsy Arceneaux (Floyd), Precilla Sassau (Lawrence) and Junella Mayfield, all from Leonville, LA; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Collins and Mary Charles Major and one brother, Lucius Major.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Community Chapel Church of God in Christ.
