Obituary For Freddie J. Richard

OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA for Mr. Freddie John Richard, affectionately known by his family and friends as “Fab 5” and “Scott”, 55, who entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Baton Rouge General Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA.

Mr. Richard’s memories are being cherished by: his wife, Paula Weston Richard of Opelousas, LA; his mother, Katherine Ann Richard Papillion of Opelousas, LA; two daughters, Freadricia Richard and Frederica Richard, both of Opelousas, LA; five bonus children, Latoya Weston, Deshawn Weston, Marcal Weston, Kendrick Weston and Calvin Boagni, all of Opelousas, LA; four brothers, Michael Richard, Andre Richard and Jerome Papillion, all of Opelousas, LA and Lance Papillion of Lafayette, LA; three sisters, Angela Richard, Raven Richard and Tonya Pappillion, all of Opelousas, LA; one grandchild, Tavauris Johnson of Opelousas, LA; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Freddie Jones and his niece, Bri’ana Bryant.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.
