Obituary For Gertrude Landry

CHURCH POINT – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Mrs. Gertrude Landry, 83, who entered eternal rest on Friday, January 10, 2025 in Church Point, LA. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Fr. Anselm Ofodum will celebrate the mass.

Mrs. Landry’s memories are being cherished by: her three sons, John (Brenda) Landry and Jerome Landry (Janet), both of Church Point, LA and Nicholas Landry (Jameah) of Sunset, LA; three daughters, Lisette Johnson (Rickey) of Opelousas, LA, Alegra (Jonathan) August and Monica Landry, both of Church Point, LA; one brother Larry (June) Taylor of Highland, CA; one sister, Sharon (Maurice) Aguillard of Kenner, LA; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her husband, Paul Landry; her parents, John and Levertia Taylor; one son, Paul R. Landry; a granddaughter, Cierra Landry; three brothers, Lawrence “LJ” Taylor, Charles “Boo” Taylor and Johnny “Pie” Taylor; and four sisters, Margie Landry, Sadie Henry, Emma Citizen and Johanna “Brownie” Boxie.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church.
