GRAND COTEAU - Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau, LA for Mrs. Helena Francis “Aunt-Tee” Savoie, 83, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Opelousas General Health System. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Clyde LeBlanc, S.J. will be officiating the funeral service. Mrs. Savoie leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Robert “Boo” Francis (Marlene) of Spring, TX; three daughters, Sandra F. Bernard of Lafayette, LA, Tracey S. Taylor (David) of Opelousas, LA and Tamara Citizen (Joseph) of Arnaudville, LA; one stepson, James Garrick (Angie) of Tennessee; five stepdaughters, Brenell Laday, Barbara Frank (Malcolm) and Peggy Mouton (Byron), all of Opelousas, LA, Cecilia “C-Ann” Johnson of Church Point, LA and Alice Johnson (Joseph) of Sunset, LA; two brothers, John “Uncle Red” Francis and Edwin “Uncle Nuddy” Francis, both of Lafayette, LA; two sisters, Caroline “Aunt Cat” Moore (Charles) and Julia “Aunt Nunny” Broussard (Joseph), all of Lafayette, LA; two daughters-in-law, Janie Savoie and Sheila Savoie; four sisters-in-law, Vercie Savoie, Audrey Mae Landry, Rose Babineaux Francis and Dorothy Gordwin; thirty-one grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mrs. Savoie was preceded in death by: her husband, Gabriel H. Savoie, Sr.; her parents, Peter and Mabel Francis; her four sons, John Kevin Savoie, Ron Christopher Savoie, Donald Ray Savoie, Sr. and Gabriel Savoie, Jr.; one brother, Peter Francis, Jr.; and three sisters, Anna Lee Francis, Anna Jane Francis and Roselene Francis. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA.
