OPELOUSAS - Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA for Mr. Henry Pitre, Jr., affectionately known as “Brother” and “Louisiana Hustler”, 84, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at his residence in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Greater St. James Memorial Gardens in Opelousas, LA.
Rev. Christopher Ardoin, Pastor of Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church will be officiating the funeral service.
Mr. Pitre leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Elyouna Dave Pitre of Opelousas, LA; two sons, Kevin (Charissa) Pitre, Sr. of Lafayette, LA and Lemuel (Mary) Pitts of Opelousas, LA; one daughter, Sandra (John) Pitts of Opelousas, LA; two brothers, MacLindsey (Sally) Pitre of Memphis, TN and Lee Morris (Virginia) Pitre of Oakwood, TX; three sisters, Brenda Toston of Ville Platte, LA, Priscilla Williams and Patricia (Moise) Tezeno, both of Lake Charles, LA and Gwendolyn (Gilbert) Thomas of Montgomery, TX; three grandchildren, Kevin L. Pitre, Jr., Elyouna N. Ledoux and Sidne’ Pitre; and a host of nieces, nephews, Godchildren, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Henry and Edna Wilson Pitre, Sr.; one daughter, Nerma Latricia Pitre; two brother, Larry Pitre, Sr. and Raleigh Pitre; and four sisters, Anne Laura Pitre, Edna Jane Pitre, Juanita Duhon and Elwiner Calloway.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church .
