Obituary For Hilda Ann "Eda" Charles-Pickney

PORT BARRE - Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Global House of Praise Christian Worship Center, 268 Pacific St., Port Barre, LA for Mrs. Hilda Ann Charles-Pickney whose affectionately known as “Eda”, 55, who entered eternal rest on Monday, July 19, 2021 at her residence in Port Barre, LA. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre, LA.

Pastor Bobby Gradney, Pastor of Global House of Praise Christian Worship Center, will be officiating the funeral service.

Mrs. Pickney leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Joseph Raymond Pickney of Port Barre, LA; two sons, Joseph Raymond Pickney, III (Cindy Stelly) and Chaz Pickney (Tonisha Chambers), both of Opelousas, LA; two daughters, Markita Pickney Comeaux (Brad) of Port Barre, LA and Leetra Pickney (Kenneth Ford, III) of Opelousas, LA; mother-in-law, Mary T. Pickney of Port Barre, LA; five brothers, Joseph Wilton (Laura) Charles, Sr. of Port Barre, LA, Wilbert (Angela) Charles, Jr. of Plaisance, LA, Donald James Charles and Preston Charles, both of Jacksonville, FL and Marlon White of Opelousas, LA; five sisters, Delia Charles and Wilda Charles, both of Leonville, LA, Linda Vaultz (Larry) of Sunset, LA, Brenda Matthews of Opelousas, LA and Jamika White of Rayne, LA; thirteen grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Wilbert and Amanda T. Charles; one son, Ricky Pickney; and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Sara Pickney.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Global House of Praise Christian Worship Center.
